Green turban headband

I wasn't a fan of turbans in the fashion. They reminded me always on Lady Eloise from the "Boomerang" film with Eddy Murphy (awesome comedy btw) and they totally can mess up you hair. Last week end  I went to a "Classic Hollywood" movie marathon and the Hollywood divas of the 40's looked great with their stylish turbans.  Inspired by their looks I created this turban headband. Available in my shop...

Minipost: Adonis

Looked through my old creations and found this butterfly headband "Adonis", named after "Adonis" blue butterfly. Made of small peacock feathers and Swarovski crystals.  I designed it about 4 years ago for a friend of mine. I produced only one exemplar, but now I am thinking to add it to my next collection... What do you think?

Seven Deadly Sins Illustrations

Here are the illustrations and inspirational mood boards for the Project "Seven Deadly Sins".  Usually I don't spend so much time for presentation. You just don't have so much time to paint detailed sketches if you designing a collection. But this project was a part of my portfolio book and I wanted it to be more graphical. For the sketches I used pantone markers and pencils (I have a huge collections of the best markers). And the rest was done using Illustrator and Photoshop. You can see the finished project in my previous post here. Enjoy...

Where are my knitting needles?

Inspired by a very cool shop window decoration from a store in Berlin I dug out my old knitting needles, some really, really old knitting books and started playing around with wool. As a kiddo I loved to knitt and to crochet and I was pretty good. I wanted to create something simple but still stylish in trendy spring colors. I have to admit knitting is really addicting. I named this basics collection "Candyland" and it consists of 7 fashionable colors. Available in my online shop.

Seven deadly sins

Inspired by Dante's Inferno this collection includes 7 complete costume with one costume representing each sin. David Fincher's thriller "Seven" deals also with this topic. This movie impressed me a lot. Great acting, great script, great direction. Like I said, I am huge adrenalin junkie. Originally the collection was created for a charity fashion event I helped to organized in New York. Young Designers had a chance to show their latest collections in the show and the organizers of the event asked me if I can do something more artistic for the show. This is rather an artistic project than a typical fashion collection. Photographed by the New York based fashion Photographer Lenny Wolf.

Passion for red

To be honest red is not my favorite color for myself. I don't think it suits me well. I have red hair and pale skin. I do have some red clothes and bags, but I wear it really rarely. But here is the weird thing... I love to work with red colors. In every collection or project of mine you'll find at least one fire red piece. Maybe it doesn't look good on me, but it looks awesome on my models. Here are some photos from different projects I did in the past...

"Lust" part of the "Seven deadly sins" project. I'll post the complete collection in one of my next posts.

I am a huge fan of science-fiction genre. My first love was Luke Skywalker :). He looked so hot with his laser sword. I was 12. :)  Besides hot heros science-fiction movies can give some great inspirations. One of my favorite movies is Fritz Lang's "Metropolis". For those who don't know it you can see some footage in Queen's "Radio GaGa" music video. Even this movie was filmed in 1927 the costumes are amazing. Inspired by the one of the character's costumes I created some stylish hair accessories...

Last season sketches

Here are a little selection of my designs for the fall/winter 2012 season. Inspired by the 40s silhouettes and origami structures.  I am a huge fan of the 40s style. Most of my work is influenced by the 40s style. New interpreted of course. I love pencil dresses, gloves and hair accessories. I have about 30 different gloves and about 100 head peaces... Fascinators, head bands, caps... Well I am a Millinery Designer...

LOEWE -Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show in Paris

Here is the full-length video of the Loewe fall/winter 2012 fashion show in Paris. Love the shoes and the elegant silhouette of the dresses. I love black, but I kinda hoped the fall/winter 2012 wouldn't be so colorless...

Spring Cleaning

So tonight I did some spring cleaning in my atelier. I have so many boxes or pouches with mixed fabrics, beads and ribbons. Everything is so mixed up. So I decided to reorganize all my trims and I found so many lost treasures. Lots of them I bought in when I lived in New York 2 years ago. Love it...

Girl's best friends...

I am in love with little cute clutches for all the little but very important things. They are cute, trendy and useful. The mp3 payers are getting smaller, the phones are getting flatter and the girls are using less make- up. So why do we need oversized clutches again? Forget about diamonds, mini clutch bags are a girl's best friends. Here are some of my latest designs...

Butterfly effect

I am a huge fan of butterflies. This passion reflects in my current hair accessories collection. I also was inspired by Nabokov's "Lolita". I saw both movies and I always wanted to read the book. And last week I literally found it on the street. Somebody lost it in the park. And it's in my mother (Russian) language! Destiny :). I am in the middle of the book and I still don't know if I like it, but the way Nabokov describes the culture and fashion of the 50's got me inspired for some of my accessories...

I added two more head peaces to my accessories collection. The "Sweet currant" is my favorite one. I have a perfect dress for it.
